82 days.
One side of me is thinking very sweet thoughts, only 82 days until Dan and I get married in front of our dear family and friends and – oh my gosh, I wish it was tomorrow! The other side is thinking, holy s**t, I only have 82 days to finish planning. Now, I am in the “home stretch” of planning I suppose. We have had all of the vendors booked for months and we’ve booked everything else we’ve needed to – including the honeymoon. But, now we have to finalize everything – and that’s where the real work comes in. I know I sound like a broken record these days, but really – the devil is in the details!!
It’s thrilling and exciting, but all the more real. While I “technically” have 82 days, for my own peace of mind – I want to be done with everything on August 27! I know, it’s an ambitious goal – but I think we can do it. My last trip to Kenosha before the wedding is August 24-26. It will be crazed and hectic, but hopefully I can relax after that. (Am I living in lala land??!!!)
Anyway, we had an awesome weekend. We’ve been traveling quite a bit, and we don’t have many weekends free this summer – so it was great just to lay by the pool and catch up on things like laundry and cleaning:) We also ordered my wedding band on Saturday, which should be arriving via Fed-ex tomorrow. I can’t wait to see it on – I’ve gotten so used to the engagement ring, now I’ll have to adjust to the band. Well...in 82 days I will.

I think we’re going to go looking for Dan’s next weekend. He has long, skinny, bony fingers – but his knuckles are bigger than they should be. (Recall the bad habits entry!!) For him, it will be more of an adjustment to wear a ring – which he has told me on several occasions. But, no sympathy here...suck it up Dan! You have 82 days to get over it!! I say this with love, of course!
Speaking of l-o-v-e....on the tube tonight is the Age of Love. It is the only reality tv show that I am giving in to this summer, because really, reality tv is on the decline. And, So You Think You Can Dance doesn’t count – that’s a talent show. But, I’ll give this one a try. The premise: a hacked up tennis player – I think he’s 30? – is setting out to meet a mate. And he has two camps of women competing for his love: Cougars and Kittens. Yup, 20-somethings and 40-somethings. Read the Washington Post’s write up – “Old Enough to Be His Sister.”
